I love Apartment Therapy‘s new blog, Home Hacks. Anything from how to pick the right potato to DIYs to how to “green” your office.
These were a few that caught my eye and made me want to try them!
How to cover up dings in wooden furniture…with a walnut!
How to turn a mason jar into a soap dispenser:
How to create a quick cheap rug:
(they say to use rag rugs but I think you could also use placemats!)

I did a little dumpster diving yesterday and scored this classic beauty:
I was thinking of reupholstering and painting it — thoughts? It seems to have already been reupholstered awhile ago because of the trimming along the border. I know that this is probably a job for the professionals but hey, I’m all about jumping in and trying projects out! I haven’t gotten anything to lose on this chair since I got it in the dumpster. It may take awhile for me to learn but I love a challenge!
This before and after from Design Sponge Online is something similar and pretty killer to what I was thinking:
I love this color combo:

Love that Scandinavian print too…
(found in Colette Patterns)
Or maybe I should try and do a pop of color with this bright turquoise:
(found here)
Or a bright, cheery yellow like this one:

What are your ideas?

Ever see this before?
The husband and wife duo created this amazing up-cycled wall art map using old license plates and mounted on reclaimed barn wood. They’ve got a few more note-worthy collections up their sleeve:

I completely agree with re-nest on their feature of the many different and reusable uses for chalkboard paint, including the holidays!

(images above via re-nest)
Heart of Light‘s gift tags found on etsy look so pretty packaged up with some ribbon.
Having a holiday dinner party? Use these tags as name place cards ( You can even try drawing a winter scene or some snowflakes on it)
