Today I’m inspired by…

Van Gogh’s sunflowers…

Broad brushstrokes, bright yellow and wild form. There’s a reason why these are famous sunflowers.

I see Van Gogh’s sunflowers…

Sea glass

11Jul

Collections of sea glass, illustrated by Louise van Terheijden from Amsterdam. Her colors and transparency of the watercolors are so ethereal. I just love how it looks ordered, like a collection from a book, but the lines are so organically flowing.

Color your stay

19May

Have you heard of the Pantone Hotel in Brussels?

Great and fun concept — execution? Little to be desired. I feel like so much more can be done with this concept but they were too timid or something. So, would I ever stay there? Probably not. How about you?

Color

17May

I’ve been trying to branch out into some more color lately. I feel like when the weather gets warm, I have to put away my grays and blacks and browns and bring out some COLOR!

Here are a few inspirations to that:

Colored yarn for wrapping gifts — I really like it against the kraft brown too. {via here}

Create your own rainbow with this dip-dyed garland! {found via here}

A rainbow bridal party is genius. How beautiful is that? {found via here} If I had bridesmaids, I’d be tempted to do that…

Although this would be painstakingly slow, these rainbow colored paper cranes have a cool effect. {found here}

One more…

18Apr

Ok, one more watercolor item I’d like in my closet. Then that’s it. I promise. :)

This dip-dyed tote from Freshly Picked. Comes in three colors too! And, at $15, it’s something I can afford.

Vegetable pop

07Mar

Pragya of Artocrat on Etsy has such fun, colorful prints of food. Wouldn’t it look great in a kitchen to make it bright and cheery? I love bright and cheery kitchens.

Plus, she makes vegetables look good.

Pantone cookies

31Jan

I found this on the Ladies of Letterpress blog and just had to re-post it because… it’s just awesome:

Pantone cookies! Yum. Made by Kim Creative Star.

By the way, do you know what the Pantone color of the year is for 2011?

There it is! What do you think of this “Honeysuckle” ?
