As promised… photos from our wedding which took place exactly a month ago. The wedding took place in our hometown in Pennsylvania and our fabulous photographers, a husband and wife team of Brooke Courtney, really captured it all.

I copied Princess Kate’s idea of bringing the outdoors in for our ceremony with shrubbery and small trees at the front of the sanctuary.
The reception was under a tent at a historic 18th century home where we had kebabs and corn on the cob, cookies and ice cream. A couple of deer made an appearance at twilight in the meadow nearby, as well as the barn cat who did not like getting her photo taken.
Dancing to the Swingin’ Swamis, we boogied under the stars and twinkle lights. A magical day.

I just love this photo from the Sartorialist. “Eva in Milan”… her hair and outfit just look so effortless yet beautiful. I think that’s the hardest thing to pull off — looking carefree and effortless. (I think I may also have Europe on the brain lately…)

This Tokyo based photographer, Natsumi Hayashi, takes many attempts to jump or move when photographing to produce an eerie, levitating effect. No photoshop (to my knowledge) but solely jumping in the air. It’s beautiful and magical. Almost like she’s living in a secret world (Hayao Miyazaki anyone?)

I seriously could look at these photographs all day (and for fashion inspiration!) …she has a blog so check it out for more.

I found my favorite new tumblr page. A Well Traveled Woman (where all of these are photos sourced from) posts much more than images that conjure up travel, but I absolutely love the photos she finds that just give the essence of “being away”.
Has anyone ever just quit their job and traveled for six months? a year? I did study abroad for six months but I stayed in the same country(Italy) so, as it was amazing, I’ve never really traversed, hopping from cities to countries for longer than a month. I’d love to do that.

27May

I am unrealistically excited for the weekend. Why? Well, it’s a long weekend (yay!) and… I’ll be finishing up and mailing our wedding invitations (finally!) and… moving to a new apartment (yipes!). Lots to do and I can’t wait to do them.
For all of those who are also just hanging around this weekend, check out some of these fun links:
1. A new HGTV show, Secrets from a Stylist, Emily Henderson, is my new favorite show. I absolutely LOVE her styling. I’ve never been that jazzed about other stylists on HGTV, but she totally gets it and has the BEST styling ideas. You can watch full episodes here. Plus, she’s super quirky and funny (ok, I admit, I have a total girl crush on her in case you couldn’t tell).
2. This delicious-looking strawberry mint spritzer recipe to keep you cool this weekend
3. A scratch off map of the world. Scratch off where you’ve been!
{I can’t find the source of the image above unfortunately. Also, I do not condone wild animals as pets. But this image is pretty darn cute.}
