There’s something about block printing that really gets me. I’m always drawn to it; I guess it is something like letterpress printing, where it’s one press at a time, one color at a time. A true hand-crafted process.
I love Papa Totoro‘s block printed work, a London-based artist who uses her hand drawn and cut lino patterns and vintage print blocks. So bright and colorful!
What is it about rustic wood? I can’t help myself but I just love the look. Simple, elegant and bringing the outdoors in. That’s my style in a nutshell pretty much. :)
These beauties are reclaimed wood from picket fencing designed by Getting Weddy from Texas. They could work inside or out…maybe with a candle in? They are a fun alternative to sconces…which are not big in my book but these I could handle. {found via Sweet Peach}
Artist Terada Mokei from Japan creates these beautiful little worlds. Starting off creating tiny architectural models at a firm, he developed this “paper pop-up” way of making models. And now he makes coasters as well. Aren’t they so delicately beautiful? Check out the rest of the little world he created.
Here’s a fun tutorial that Sarah over at Sarah Hearts found via Martha Stewart. All you need is a paper plate and some washi tape. Now if only I had a little garden where I could pick berries … it’d be a perfect little gift!
Indian block printing. Beautiful, amazing. I can’t believe the intricacy that they achieve in the patterns with such a simple tool and method. Watch it and you’ll fall in love.
