My favorite UK apparel brand, Toast, has the most wonderful winter shoe collection, from the cozy to the fancy. These are a few I’d like in my closet (especially the velvet-lined flats and the blue suede shoes!)

Then, I’d take those blue suede flats and their boat-neck oversize sweater, slim cord pants, and fair isle scarf. And I’d have my perfect winter comfort outfit.

One of these clutches is going on my Christmas wish list… now I just need to decide which one.
I typically lug around a giant bag all the time so sometimes I just want to dump a few things in one of these and go. Nothin’ too fancy. I love the foldover ones too for that extra space. And the waxed canvas ones look really fun too — kinda gives it that leather “feel”.

Ok, now it’s officially September. Now I can finally get excited for the fall season. Here are a few fall pieces that I am getting excited about:

fig. 1: Clark’s Desert Mali Boot. A mid-calf boot lace-up boot that is a big look this year, but in a more classic, rustic way.
fig. 2: Cable-knit sweaters. The chunkier the better. Need I say more?
fig. 3: T-strap Mary Janes. I love them with colored or sweater tights.
fig. 4: Churidar pants. Sort of the wild card for me, but these Indian inspired pants look super fun (and comfy!) under a casual dress. I swear they don’t look as frumpy as they may appear.
fig. 5: Ankle pants. And colored? Even better.

I’ve been noticing a few colored shoelaces popping up here and there on dressier shoes and boots and I think it would be such a fun way to personalize a classic style — it’s that added “touch of whimsy”.
Like this pop of red:

I think it even works with these casual ones as well, don’t you think?
And these ribbon laces would be super fun too…I am kinda in love. It balances out a masculine shoe which I like. And, you can buy them at American Apparel here.

I just love this photo from the Sartorialist. “Eva in Milan”… her hair and outfit just look so effortless yet beautiful. I think that’s the hardest thing to pull off — looking carefree and effortless. (I think I may also have Europe on the brain lately…)

Since we are going on our honeymoon the Monday after the wedding…I need to start packing now! Going to both Croatia and Slovenia requires two different sets of attire too — beaches to mountains. In Croatia, it’s all about the dresses, like this one above from Toast. Something that hides dirt, can accessorize into different styles (dressy vs. casual) and comfortable.
Next, it’s all about the stripes…
Nothing says the Adriatic better like some nautical stripes…right? Just like this Madewell outfit above.
Finally, a hair scarf to keep my long hair out of my face while I’m cruising along the Dalmatian coast.
Now in Slovenia, it’s all about layering. Hiking through the alpine meadows, this summery pullover from Anthropologie would be perfect…

Especially with some skinny cargo pants like these by GUESS
Then top everything off with some aviators. ‘Cause they’re just awesome everywhere.
