Once upon a time

20Apr

I would LOVE to have this heavy-duty cardboard bear bookcase
joepolarbearbookcase_largeWhat a piece standing just over 5 feet high with a weight stating “very heavy”. :) With that bookcase, you’ll need to display your favorite bear book:

And, you’ll need a light to read it…

Weekend workings

19Apr

A sneak peek of what I was working on this weekend…
red inkyellow ink on the pressteal on pressteal on rollersletterpress flower detailI got to use such pretty colors on the press — lemon yellow, teal and a fiery coral. What do you think about this color combo?
I also have to say, for the printers out there, using opaque white to mix colors instead of transparent white was far less of a headache trying to get the right color and a solid coverage — what are your thoughts?

Feliz Friday

What is everyone up to this weekend? Big letterpress printing weekend for me — wish it was as streamlined as this studio with that Heidelberg…

Happy weekend everyone!

Pinch of salt

15Apr

I have been trying to find a pair of fun salt ‘n’ pepper shakers lately to dress up my kitchen. Found these worth noting:

What to do with all of those old, plain ones laying around? Turn them into lovely little vases of course:

Greetings from Miami

13Apr

Back from Miami! Unfortunately, we only had about a day and a half of sun but there was so much to see and do that it didn’t matter: South Beach, the Everglades, Cuban cuisine… I even saw a couple of roller bladers. More tomorrow!

Feliz Friday

09Apr

A Feliz Friday indeed for I am off to Miami for a long weekend!

vintage miamiSeeing the sights and my cousin who resides in the city known as “the gateway to the Americas”. Having never been to South Florida, I’m pretty excited to see the Art Deco buildings, eat some Cuban cuisine, lie on some beaches, and watch the roller skaters glide by (my vision of Miami may be off…)

Miami Beach is waiting for me! See you all on Tuesday!
