Happy Camper Blog

And I’m off…

02Feb

My weekend is starting early!  I’m heading up to Boston, a place where I lived for a few years and where I left many friends and family behind. I’m excited for pizza dinners, funny and delicious parties, $1 oysters, and hot coffees in Cambridge.

Happy (early) weekend!

Oh the Swedes…

01Feb

Yes, the Swedes are at it again with their most unique and beautiful interior design. Swedish interior design blog,  Annaleensa HEM, has a DIY section that is super inspiring to me right now. I especially want to try that basket lampshade. Wouldn’t it be so fun to paint it a neon pink or yellow color?

Here are the DIY links — I want to try them all!

1. Geometric Chair 2. Lace vase 3. Basket lamp 4. Fabric wrapped vase

Thank you letterpress flags

26Jan

The thank you flags letterpress cards are now in *fashion color* blue at the shop. Just let me know if you need any specific quantity and I’ll set up a custom listing just.for.you. They are also still in black, although I’m going to need to print more soon!

Also, don’t forget about Valentine’s Day coming up — there’s still time to order your cards!

Katty Maurey

26Jan

I love the work of Illustrator, Katty Maurey. And these are her “informal sketches” too from her blog! I love the everyday scenes as well as the bizarre (octopus playing the drums, genius).

It’s inspiring me to start sketching again myself. I always feel guilty when I take the time to draw or paint — I feel like I should be doing something else, that I’m just “playing” (but then I don’t feel that way when I watch TV, ha). But I know I shouldn’t feel guilty — it’s part of my craft that I need to fine tune so it is worth my time. So I’m gonna do it! I think I may actually go out and get some better pens and watercolors this weekend. So I’m doing it!

Valentine DIY

24Jan

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I’ve been seeing some fun DIY’s that I wanted to share that seemed easy and fun. I especially want to try the tea bags – so cute!

Wouldn’t it also be fun to have a Valentine’s Day party? Who does that? I don’t think many do and it’d be fun to have one where you just eat delicious treats and celebrate love!

Here are the DIY links: heart paper garland (perfect for a V-day party…just sayin’), felt envelope, and heart tea bags.
